As the an art palace in the incredible architectural style, Guangzhou Opera House (GOH), one of China’s three top theaters, is the most advanced comprehensive art center in South China. The Blue Planet in Concert

Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen

Founded in 1923, Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen (Hungary) soon got the reputation of the No.1 symphonic orchestra outside Budapest and became an independent institution in 1952. The orchestra aims at providing more space and fame to the music of Hungary and taking forward the mission of Zoltan Kodály. Their repertoire includes Hungarian compositions, contemporary works, and, of course, the compositions of Zoltan Kodály. 

José Carreras in Recital

José Carreras, the world's top lyrical tenor with one of the most beautiful voices, stands in a privileged position in the music world. The Three Tenors concerts offered by Carreras together with his peer-artists Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti are now legendary. His repertoire includes over sixty operas, among which his performances in the operas of Verdi and Puccini are widely known. Once held in 2012, his performance was an excited memory for Guangzhou music lovers. 

Zubin Mehta & the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana 
Time: 8:00pm, December 30-31, 2013
Superstar conductor Zubin Mehta, having conducting the Vienna New Year's Concert 4 times, will lead the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV), which is the resident orchestra of Valencia's opera house, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. It comprises international musicians selected by the founding musical director, Lorin Maazel, and has received much praise as "one of the best orchestras of recent years". 

New Year Concert by Symphonia Vienna
Time: 8:00pm, January 7, 2014, GOH
Founded in 1985, Symphonia Vienna consists of exceptional musicians from all over the world, all sharing the passion and joy of making music together, which is dedicated to performing a both traditional and new repertoire as well as exploring music from other cultures. The ensemble is equally comfortable performing the most intimate chamber music as the large symphonic orchestral repertoire. In the New Year's time in Guangzhou, Symphonia Vienna will perform at a high level in this Strauss-filled New Year program.
