Trade and Investment consultancy firm Muvambi Global (Pvt) Ltd is mobilising local companies for participation in the October segment of the Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair). The 112th edition of the Canton Fair, which is China's biggest trade fair, will be held in China's Guangzhou Province from October 15 to November 4.

Muvambi Global (Pvt) Ltd is a consultancy firm that specialises in China-Africa trade and investment.

Company director Mr Manyika Kangai said they had put in place a package for local companies to simplify their engagement with Chinese companies at the event.

"Although people are able to simply go by themselves the advantage of this package is that apart from taking away the time and effort one would have to put into organising the trip, we have partners in China who will be able to assist delegates once they arrive therefore eliminating the risk of getting lost or issues of communication because of the language barrier," he said.

In the previous edition of the Canton Fair, Muvambi Global arranged for the participation of 30 local companies, and they anticipate an improvement due to increased awareness of the fair in Zimbabwe.

The event is expected to assist Zimbabwean businesses that are interested to do business with China to get a broader appreciation of the opportunities available in that market.

"Canton provides companies the opportunity to transfer skills and technology from China.

"The fair also provides traders the opportunity to have a direct link with reputable Chinese manufacturers of various goods as the companies exhibiting will all be approved by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce," said Mr Kangai.

The Canton Fair is China's biggest trade fair and offers Zimbabwean firms interested in trading with China a direct link to Chinese companies.
