Since April, Guangzhou South Railway Station has made the transfer between Intercity Railway and High-speed Railway easier, allowing passengers to save valuable time.

The High-speed Railway running between Beijing and Shenzhen and the Intercity Railway between Guangzhou and Zhuhai both stop at Guangzhou South Railway Station. Now the passengers holding the tickets of both journeys can transfer from the north end of the platform after getting off the train. From there they can reach the waiting room exclusively for transferring passengers on the third floor via a special corridor. Station staff will be there helping them to check-in with their second tickets, so that they can continue their journey without another security check.

The station has put up more than 300 signs along the transfer corridor, in both Chinese and English, directing people and telling them the distance to the platform of the next train. Following the signs, the passengers can easily transfer to the next train. It is estimated that a passenger can save 25 minutes.
