Qatar Airways will launch non-stop flight from its capital Doha to Guangzhou in South China s Guangdong Province, becoming the first carrier flies to the city from the Gulf.

The route is expected to start from Mar. 31, which will be utilizing Airbus A330 on its four weekly flights and will be raised to five flights a week.

The launch of Doha-Guangzhou route enables passengers from Europe, Middle East and Africa to visit China through Doha airport, according to the spokesman with the air company.

China s aviation market and its future prospect means significantly to Qatar Airways as it grows dramatically in recent years, said Becker, CEO of the carrier. This year, the nation will be the world s focus and its aviation industry will see a further boom, powered by the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he added.

Qatar Airways tapped into China four years ago, offering flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
